The why

Why?
Coffee in hand, I performed my morning ritual of scrolling through my blog roll.  I love blogs, of all sorts.  While about 90% of my blog roll consists of crafty/decor blogs, there is a smattering of others.
One of my favs is Rage Against the Minivan.  I initially started reading this because of the title.  I never want to own a mini-van.  I know that they have abundant room, remote sliding doors, ride well and with 3 rows of seat, my 2 children would never have to sit next to one another again.  But I still don't want one.  But I have continued to read Kristen's blog because she makes me think.  And as a SAHM, this is a welcome diversion.
Weekly, Kristen does a post titled "that's what she said:"  She includes snippets of various blog posts that have spoken to her recently.  On her last "twss" post, she highlighted posts that related to weight, food and body image.  One of her links sent me to Socialogical Images, and a guest post by a woman named Kjerstin Gruys who writes a blog entitled Mirror, Mirror...OFF The Wall.  In her blog, Kjerstin journals her attempt to go an entire year without seeing her reflection.  Now add in the fact that she will be married half way through that year.
Kjerstin started her journey because of a wedding dress and a mirror.  You can go to her blog to read her reasoning in her own words.  I spent the entire morning neglecting housework and children reading her words.  And they touched me.
